Here it is, at last. .

I finally was able to snap a photo of the sampler. After making my way through the eyelets, I moved down to the peacocks. What an absolute lovely colour that teally-green is. Simply beautiful. I'm sure the picture does NOT do it justice. This part is rather straight-forward. Simple cross stitches, no specialty ones.

Hhhmmm

HAs anyone noticed I've begun most of my posts with "OK"? Highly annoying. I've been working on my TGOS sampler. Almost done with the eyelet alphabet. I will post my picture when I finish that alphabet. I must say, if you don't like eyelet stitch, you might want to think of substituting a different stitch for this, say, a smyrna cross, or just plain cross stitch.

Wow, this is late! And a new one, at that!

OK, now I'm going to be alternating weekly, what design I'm stitching on. This past week, it has been a Rosewood Manor design called Antique Tin Tiles. It's quite lovely, and seems to be working up quite quickly.

It's a large design, so we'll see how much I can get done on my next week, this one being dedicated to TGOS Sampler.

A new update

OK, here is my latest on the TGOS Companion Scottish Sampler.

The Eyelets definitely take longer. I have to be very careful that no threads are carrying over the opening. Trying to keep it completely clear takes a little thought, especially when starting and ending a thread.

I find I also have to drop my needle more often. I must twist it as I pull the eyelet open.

Algerian Eyelets

OK, here is my progress as of today. I have started the Algerian Eyelet letters. This is a little slow going, because I have to be careful about nothing covering up the opening that is made in the center. They do look nice in the overdyed floss.

A little Easter stitching

OK, so here is the satin stitch with the cotton Olde Willow Stitchery hand dyed. Oh, I forgot to mention that I did use a laying tool/awl to make sure the 2 threads were side by side. I think the sheen is great. I don't know if you can see it easily in the photo. It did take up most of that colour, so hopefully I have enough left to complete the cross stitches. ETA Actually, yes, there is another entire skein full of this colour, so I'm sure I will NOT be running out.

I do plan on stitching tonight whilst watching Opening Day at Fenway. I find baseball is very good to stitch by!

On a different note, my ds received Scribblenauts for Easter, and he says it's a great game. I may have to save up to get this one.
